Prizes

Today we're putting together the prizes that we're giving away at the masquerade party. We have lots of prizes so I hope lots of people come out for this.

Originally this was supposed to be a semi-formal event and people would just wear masks. People have decided to get creative, which I think is just fine.

Some people want to dress to the nines and wear a fancy mask like the old fashioned masquerades;

some want to dress up in full costume, and others are doing something in between.

One guy said he was going to come with a rhinestone studded mask and fishnet stockings. I dared him to do it, so we'll see what really happens!

Maybe I should have double-dared him. hmmm....

Some people are buying blank masks and decorating them themselves, while others are just grabbing any old thing from their party supply or costume shops.

I'm curious to see how this is going to turn out. In any case, it's going to be fun, that's for sure.

People have been asking about the cost. There is NO admission cost. You just buy your own drinks.

And of course, you might want to buy a book from Tina-Sue, the author of "No Shadows Left Behind". This is, after all, the book launch.

We're going to be casual about the format. Someone from TARE will introduce the author and the publisher; They will each say a few words and then the idea is just to have some fun. I think people are tired of events where they have to sit through long speeches or get hit up for money, so we decided we wouldn't do those things.

If you're going to be near Hamilton Ontario this Thursday (June 26), come on out and have fun with us! The masquerade/book launch is at Pepper Jack's from 7:30pm to 11:00pm (or later, depending on the crowd).
